• Acadia University Summer Conducting Symposium

    August 9th-14th, 2010 in Wolfville, NS, with special guest lecturer Dr. Colleen Richardson, University of Western Ontario.

    For four years the Acadia University Summer Conducting Symposium has been assisting musicians who wish to learn more about the art and craft of musical leadership. Past participants have included graduate students, junior and senior high music teachers, professional, and community conductors.   • Band of the West Yorkshire (U.K.) Fire & Rescue Service

    In October 2008 the Bridgewater Fire Department Band was contacted by the Band of the West Yorkshire (U.K.) Fire & Rescue Service to consider the possibility of a trans-Atlantic band exchange. After many months of extensive planning in both Nova Scotia and England, the BFDB is pleased to be welcoming the West Yorkshire band to Canada on August 5th, 2010.

    A busy week is planned for the WYFRS Band including performances in Bridgewater, Lunenburg, and Annapolis County, culminating in a Gala Concert at Bridgewater High School at 7.00 PM on August 11th, to which Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia has been invited.

    In August 2011 the BFDB will be travelling to England for a week-long return visit.

  • Moonlight Concert in Paradise 2010
